The Gift Of Giving

” Always give without remembering and always receive without forgetting ” – Brian Tracy

The act of giving during the holiday period is so much more significant than the exchange of gifts. It is special because we come together to celebrate joy, compassion, and the spirit of generosity.

Below, we share some of the ways to give back over the holiday period. As a business, we researched the different ways that we can contribute this holiday season and thought it might be helpful if you’re also looking for ideas.

Season Greeting Cards

For those of you who send traditional greeting cards or e-cards think about buying Cards that support charities. Charity greeting cards can be bought online or are often available at local news agencies.

Volunteer Your Time

Giving your time to charities can be a very valuable gift. Many charities depend on the support of volunteers to keep their operations going. Some of the great charities that you can volunteer with include Bondi’s Our Big Kitchen, Youth Off The Streets, Orange Sky and Wayside Chapel, among many others. There are plenty of opportunities for individual volunteers, groups, and corporate teams. However, it’s important to note that many volunteer positions require a Police and Working With Children Check before commencing. If you are looking for something Christmas-related the Sydney Basket Brigade is packing hampers in December to be delivered to those in need as is the Smith Family who will be sending gift and toy hampers to 25,000 disadvantaged children all over Australia, as part of its Book & Toy Appeal

The Gift of Donations

The idea of suggesting a donation to a charity as a gift is a thoughtful and meaningful way to celebrate occasions. This approach of “paying it forward” spreads kindness and makes a positive impact on the community. Overall, this idea of gift-giving, makes it a positive experience for both the giver and the recipient. As a team, we were recently inspired and privileged to watch the documentary “Seeds” based on the School For Life Foundation. There are so many charities to give to and so many ways to give. Aussie Christmas Trees are selling fresh trees this year in Manly and by purchasing a tree from them you’ll be donating to Royal Far West Children’s Charity.

Donate Blood

Donating blood is a selfless act that can save lives and make a significant impact on the well-being of others. Consider donating blood as every drop makes a difference in someone’s journey toward recovery. It can be especially lifesaving for those who have a rare blood type.

There are so many worthy charities and we barely scratched the surface with those listed above. We are continually inspired by the work these people do that makes such a difference in the lives of so many people.

Think of giving not as a duty, but as a privilege “-John D. Rockefeller Jr.
