Tamarama & Cammeray Property Snapshots

Find out how Tamarama a prestigious suburb in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and the popular and family orientated suburb of Cammeray on Sydney’s North Shore have performed over the last 12 months in our suburb reports below.

Tamarama

Tamarama is a small and exclusive beachside surburb in the Eastern Suburbs. Only 6km east of Sydney CBD, homes here command some of the highest prices in Sydney. Due to the small size of Tamarama and the limited amount of houses in the suburb it’s no surprise that it’s one of Sydney’s most expensive suburbs, on a cost per square meter basis.

Tamarama Beach sits snuggly between two headlands. With the Bronte to Bondi walkway wrapping around its shoreline you can take in the spectacular view. Historically it is known to have one of the first surf clubs in the world. A mostly residental suburb the beach and adjacent parklands are popular places for recreational activities.

Tamarama has a population of just 1,478 people and only 682 private residences. Of these, only 127 of these residences are freestanding houses, 90 are townhouses or semi-detached homes and 348 are units. The homes in the suburb are large and tend to have four+ bedrooms. In Tamarama there is a mixture of modern and art deco buildings most of which have spectacular views.

Cammeray

Cammeray is a vibrant community with a charming village center on Miller St. Local families swarm to Cammeray due to its excellent public primary school, moderate price of housing and its close proximity to Sydney’s CBD.

Its leafy streets and range of housing make this a popular place to live. The Sydney CBD is only a short 5km bus ride away and there is a direct access ramp to the freeway making this suburb an easy place to commute from.

Cammeray has a mixture of federation cottages, waterfront homes, heritage houses and apartments. Cowdroy Ave is home to north facing waterfront homes with boating facilities and is very tightly held. New luxury apartments are being built, with new developments being built on the west side of Miller St.
